John Rooney (they/he) is currently the Associate Director of People and Culture at Chicago Humanities. They have spent over 15 years as a facilitator, project manager, educator, and artist for organizations such as artEquity, FARSIGHT Agency, Nicole Brewer’s Anti-Racist Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, and Actors Theatre of Louisville. In addition, they serve as the Board Chair of About Face Theatre and are a member of the Chicago Gay Men's Chorus (CGMC). They are driven to create enriching, equitable, and healing spaces for staff and volunteers of public service organizations who are providing vital community services and offerings. They hold a Masters in Public Service Management from DePaul University.
