In basic algebra, we were always asked to “solve for x”. “X” was the first variable we were ever taught. It was ever-changing, and it represented infinite possibility.

(X) Collective is invested in these ever-changing variables.

The world will never stop changing. How do we remain flexible, allow ourselves to be challenged, and remain students of humanity? As we continue to explore the nuances of identity, how do we uplift and celebrate the beautiful complexities and intersections? How do we continue to interrogate our complicity in upholding white supremacy, anti-Blackness, ableism, transphobia, homophobia, xenophobia, and other forms of oppression? How do we hold ourselves accountable to our communities?

We don’t claim to have the answer. We’re always solving for “X”, always figuring out the puzzle of humanity. This puzzle is endless, sublime, and complex – constantly swirling, transforming, dying, and regenerating. We all hold a piece of that puzzle, and we’re committed to interrogating how the pieces come together.
