Why a collective?

Sure, we could be a company, an organization, a group… we are a collective because we are individuals acting together. We share our time, our resources, and our energy in service of community and humanity. We work together. We play together. (And sometimes both at the same time).

In a time when we so often feel isolated and powerless, we are striving to push against that by building community with intention. We are empowered by our relationships. We are the solution. We are the missing pieces.

defining our community

(X) Collective, the organization

  • This is made up of the Founder and Director, Alexis Green, Associate Director, Malaina Moore, and our Advisory Board.

  • These are the folks creating the container, building the relationships, and making the decisions.

(X) Collective (Members)

  • (X) Collective Members are the folks who have decided they want to commit time and energy to an artistic community. They give time to (X) Collective and receive support from (X) Collective.

(X) Collective Community

  • This is our wider community – our partners, our supporters. They are not a formal group and do not have an formal commitments. These are folks who invested in being in community, showing up as they’re able to.

What are the benefits of being a member of the collective?

What’s expected of collective members?

We invite people who are community-focused, value community care, and want to be involved in their artistic community.

Financial Commitment and Compensation

There are currently no financial obligations or benefits to being part of the collective. As we grow and raise funds, we do hope this will shift.

How to join the collective

Step 1: Fill out an interest form

  • We’ll ask you questions about the roles you hold in the field and some of your skill sets. This is not meant to be a vetting tool but rather a means to get to know you.

  • Additionally, we want to make sure we have a wide representation of roles and identities represented.

Step 2: Schedule a conversation with us

  • We’ll discuss your goals, your values, and get to know each other.

  • You may decide this isn’t for you, and that’s okay!

Step 3:  Check-Ins

We’ll check in bi-annually to make sure the relationship is still working and that you’re getting what you need. However, you’re welcome to exit as a member of the collective at any time.
